Cooking with Fruits and Vegetables
Part 1: Selecting and Storing Your Fruits and Vegetables
Fresh, Canned, or Frozen: You Decide
Fresh vegetables are always good for eating right away, giving to your children as snacks, or putting in your favorite recipes. Buying canned or frozen fruits and vegetables is a good option when you don’t plan to use them right away. You can store canned and frozen vegetables for months until you’re ready to use them.
You can buy fresh fruits and vegetables with your WIC benefits. Women and children 12 months and older receive a cash value voucher for fresh fruits and vegetables each month.
