Project Name: responsible.i.am
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Metro (UAB Metro) APREP project, responsible.i.am, aims to prevent high risk sexual behavior among youth that may lead to pregnancy and the acquisition of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This project is coordinated through the General Pediatrics/Medicine Division of UAB and partners with three medical clinics, several youth serving organizations, and faith groups. The project's target are youth ages 13 to 19 years of age, primarily from the Birmingham metropolitan area who are at high risk for pregnancy and STIs. Curricula implemented include Love Notes, Making Proud Choices!, Relationship Smarts Plus and Reducing the Risk.
