Sixth Annual Women's Health Update

The Office of Women's Health is pleased to announce the Sixth Annual Women's Health Update to be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Bruno Conference Center in Birmingham, Alabama. This year’s theme is "Women’s Health: Understanding the Heart of the Matter." This event is a continuing education offering for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, and other health care providers.

Call for Poster Abstracts

The Office of Women’s Health is pleased to announce the call for poster abstracts for Birmingham, Alabama at the Brunos Conference Center in August 2013.  The call for poster abstracts began May 1, 2013 and ends July 1, 2013. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by July 8, 2013.  

Purpose

The purpose of the conference is to disseminate scholarly work that is aimed at  improving the health status of all women. Topics related to cardiovascular health, weight management, nutrition, complementary and alternative medicine, preconception care, mental health issues, community involvement, and health policy are particularly timely. The conference will provide a venue for scholars from various disciplines to share their latest projects and research findings with colleagues.
