We are required to collect 1,000 commitments before the tags will be produced. The commitment period begins December 1, 2010.  You do not have to wait until your current tag expires. You will continue to use your current Alabama tag until the new license plates are produced.

Commit Today

If you have an existing car tag and would like to renew it online instantly with the new Healthy Women tag, check with RenewYourTag.com to make sure online services are available for your county.  If your county is not listed, please do the following:

Your $50 Fee is Tax Deductible and Includes Free Personalization

Do you have a personalized tag? Personalization is free, but find out if your message is available through the Alabama Motor Vehicle Division.  The Healthy Women car tag is not listed in the dropdown menu on the Department of Revenue website. You may choose any tag type to see if your personalized message is available.

Know Before You Go

When completing the "Commitment to Purchase" application, you must provide the vehicle identification number (VIN) for your vehicle.  You can save time by writing the VIN down on paper before you enter your local license plate issuing office. And remember, you are requesting the Healthy Women #ZZ14 tag.

The Process

Each county license plate issuing office will send the commitments to the State Comptroller's office, which will monitor the process and when 1,000 commitments are collected, the tags will be produced.  You can then pick up your tag at your local issuing office or wait until it's time to renew.  Remember to save your receipt and the original copy of the commitment application to use when picking up your tag.

Your $50 fee is considered a donation to the Office of Women's Health.  If 1,000 commitments are not met within one year, the Office of Women's Health will reimburse anyone who completed the commitment process and requests reimbursement.  Your donation through the Healthy Women Car Tag program will help the Office of Women's Health in a variety of ways through distribution of license plate proceeds program.
