Program Overview
As the home care industry has grown and expanded, the need for a planned, organized approach to infection control has become increasingly important. Home Health Aides and Home Attendants provide a wide range of care to home bound patients and must be aware of the routes of disease transmission, the importance of using Standard Precautions to decrease job-related exposures to infectious disease, and proper hand hygiene. This program is designed to provide the basic principles necessary for infection control to be successful and how these principles are applied in the home care setting.
