Program Overview
This presentation will provide a brief overview of suicide prevention and risk assessment, including the latest research on scope of problem and recommended strategies for prevention and risk reduction; describe the risk relationship of mental illness and substance abuse to suicide attempts and completions; identify implications for management and practice using a framework of practical strategies including risk identification and referral, "gatekeeper" concept; describe risk assessment strategies and a systemic approach to risk reduction including frameworks and tools.
