Program Overview
This presentation will provide a brief overview of suicide prevention and risk assessment, including the latest research on scope of problem and recommended strategies for prevention and risk reduction; describe the risk relationship of mental illness and substance abuse to suicide attempts and completions; identify implications for management and practice using a framework of practical strategies including risk identification and referral, "gatekeeper" concept; describe risk assessment strategies and a systemic approach to risk reduction including frameworks and tools.

Quinett, PhD Clinical Psychologist President and CEO of the QPR Institute Dr. Quinett is also the author of seven books and an award-winning journalist as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.
