STIs/HIV and Alabama Law
Broadcast Date: May 9, 2007 (1 hour, 50 minutes)
Program Overview
Over the past 20 years, much has been written about legal rights, healthcare policies and procedures, and confidentiality measures specific to sexually transmitted infections and the HIV epidemic. For example, there have been cases of serious and unjustified encroachments on the civil liberties of people with STIs and HIV which have established the law as a central and vital role to play in STI and HIV policy.
This program provides a forum for the presentation and discussion regarding Alabama laws and the State Board of Health's rules and regulations specific to STIs and HIV. Information regarding how these laws apply to the practice of case management are also provided. While this information pertains to practitioners in Alabama, participants from other states and jurisdictions are welcome to view this program.
